The Soft Hackle Tactical Hare's Ear is a terrific pattern that represents many types of mayflies, caddis flies and/or smaller stoneflies. Tied on a competition style jig hook with an orange collar as a "trigger" or "hot spot", this fly works in all types of water and fishing conditions. The tungsten bead gets the fly down quickly to where the fish are, especially in pocket water situations. A soft hackle adds life and movement to a fly and, when you add in the hare's ear body, you have a killer combination. This pattern works well in a multi fly nymph rig under an indicator, in a euro-nymphing system or in a dry-dropper set-up. Available in sizes 12 & 14.
