The original Brassie was tied with copper wire  but we much prefer this version with red wire. In both rivers and lakes, most midge larva and chironomids are red with a segmented body. The Red Brassie, with its thin, wire ribbed profile and iridescent peacock herl thorax, does a great job of matching the natural insect. This fly will get the fish's attention anywhere midges are found. Available in sizes 16, 18 & 20.
