Developed by Idaho fly fishing guide Pat Bennett in the early 1990's, this stonefly pattern has become one of the most popular patterns there is - it is a favorite fly of most western guides and anglers alike. A slight improvement over the original pattern, our version is tied on a bent hook which gives it a more realistic profile and it is weighted to help get it down to the fish quickly. We also tie it with extra long legs for more movement (you can cut them back if you like but we don't recommend it). Coffee & Black available in sizes 6 thru 14; Brown & Black in sizes 6 thru 12.
TIP: The Pat's Rubber Legs works well as a lead fly in a double nymph rig in all areas. It is also a good attractor or "searching" fly if you don't know exactly what the trout are feeding on.
