Designed by the late Cal Bird in 1959 on the west coast, this fly has been around for quite a while. Though initially tied as a caddis pattern, the Bird's Nest works so well because it also appears to represent many other types of insects as well. With its muted colors and overall "bugginess", this is a great fly to try in all water conditions, especially when the fish get tired of flashier offerings. Available in sizes 10, 12, 14 & 16.
